CEHD faculty and programs are recognized for their scholarly contributions. Recent awards include:
James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award – Roberta Golinkoff, professor SOE (and Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, Temple University) were presented this lifetime achievement award by the Association for Psychological Science in 2015.
Senior Scholar – James Hiebert, Robert J. Barkley Professor of Education, was presented the SIG-RME national scholar award in 2015 for significant contributions in mathematics education.
Salzburg Fellows – Rena Hallam and Martha Buell were selected to participate in the 2015 Salzburg Global Seminar, introducing early childhood development to the international conference.
ISIR Lifetime Achievement Award – In 2013, Linda Gottfredson, professor, School of Education, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society for Intelligence Research (ISIR). ISIR is the focal scientific society for the world’s researchers on human intelligence.
Early Career Award – Amanda Jansen, associate professor, was recognized by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators for demonstrating exceptional potential for leadership in mathematics teacher education within the first 10 years of her career.

Our School of Education Graduate Program is consistently ranked as one of the top education schools by US News & World Report’s “America’s Best Graduate Schools. In 2014, we were ranked 30th in the nation.
Our Mathematics Education Undergraduate Program for Elementary Teachers received the national 2013 Wisniewski Award, given by the Society of Professors of Education for demonstrating “singularly significant contributions to the theory and practice of teacher education.”
